Garden Diaries

From spring 2014 to early autumn 2015, my Garden Diaries were called Around My Edible Garden that detailed my activities in my relatively small UK garden. The UK garden is bounded by stone walls and fences, in an old city neighborhood. Here I carved my edible garden out of what was once a grassy wasteland, the soil packed with Victorian building rubble. According to old Ordinance Survey maps of the area, a carriage house once stood here. The soil is now improved – bags of rubble taken to the local recycling centre and home produced compost adding nutrients. The Green Man oversees it all.

In September 2015, we moved temporarily to Athens, Greece where we are lucky enough to be situated in a large green space in the centre of the city. My garden posts chronicle my activites in the Greek garden which is filled primarily with citrus, but where I have also established a herb garden and grow a few vegetables. Posts will be sporadic and include other places of inspiration – in the UK, Greece and anywhere else I happen to visit.
