The Pink Corner House

On an evening walk, on the outskirts of Mitata, a small town in the centre of the Greek island of Kythera, we encountered a pink house built on the corner (more a gentle bend) of the road. The house’s odd corners accommodate the road.

Not every corner is 90º.

Just opposite is a cornerstone in a wall that incorporates an old press base for olive oil production, its rectangular (cornered) grooves just discernible.

    • The pink corner house was particularly pretty in the evening sun. It was a bit washed out at mid-day when I went past it again. All the better reason for carrying your iPhone (with its camera) with you everywhere. You never know when a picture will present itself.
